Outreach

Washington state now has the lowest church attendance percentage in the nation, recently surpassing San Francisco. Observing the high number of people gathering in Washington's parks during summer, there's an opportunity to capitalize on these naturally occurring congregations in public spaces. Prompted by Pastor John and Grace's encounter with Jesus in late 2023, Pastor John researched revival and noted that certain individuals carried an anointing which they then spread to others in the community. In response, Sonrise has intentionally dedicated this summer to outreach, clearing their calendar of other events to focus on external engagement during June, July, and August. Armed with the artwork of the four depictions of Jesus as Savior, Healer, Baptizer and King, this initiative aims to move beyond the church's four walls through person to person evangelism, beginning with the immediate Sonrise community of south Everett.

All of our summer outreaches will be culminating at a tent revival August 9-11 at a local Everett park. Join us for a weekend of outreach, prayer, prophecy and worship in the community. This will be a powerful time as we bring the what God is doing in the services at Sonrise to a local park. Come expectant. Come be a part! More details to come.

Sonrise has purposefully set aside summer for community outreach, like this public Park event. If you'd like to ask questions about Jesus or the church, or even receive prayer, the Sonrise team is excited to meet with you at the park! If you're interested in becoming part of this Sonrise Park outreach, meet at the location and look for the Sonrise signage then connect with one of the leaders. Nothing like a fresh, bold brew of who Jesus is for the south Everett community. Join the Sonrise team in relaying that espresso shot of good news by answering Jesus questions and praying for people at some of the regions coffee shops. Maybe even some soft, encouraging worship music and spoken words. Meet at the event or email the Sonrise Team to let them know you'll be there.

Thousands of people drive the south Everett roads every day, and war in the spirit starts with hope, encouragement, and truth. This outreach relays that very message by encouraging drivers to & from work, with bright, colorful Jesus messages. Join the event or call Sonrise to check out some hand-held street signage and let us know where you're encouraging the community with Jesus. Embrace the honks Sonrise!

Led by Pastor John Hammer, this Summer Outreach ministry goes door to door throughout South Everett, inviting people to one of the many Sonrise Summer Park Outreaches, church services, etc. If you're interested in joining this weekly ministry or wish to simply attend an event or two, meet in the Sonrise foyer by 6:30 PM on Wednesday. From there, the team will disperse throughout South Everett.

Led by Dave Peterson, this team tours around the south Everett streets with a readiness for ministry and evangelism to the needy, hurting, homeless, etc. This weekly Summer Outreach initiative gathers in the Sonrise foyer by 6:30 PM each Tuesday and from there, departs to a focus location. So, whether you want to engage or watch and learn is totally up to you.

Led by Pastor Dan Hammer & Kathy Garcia, this ministry team strives to bring the life, joy, and peace of Jesus through a short message, the singing of hymns, and one on one time with individual residents. Contact Sonrise to join this ministry that values a typically forgotten, older generation through recognizing their life and value in the present.
